The Westbury Park Arts Fair returns as a key part of the annual Westbury Park Festival with a variety of artists.
Last year’s event was very successful with many visitors and in addition nearly £300 raised for charities from the refreshments and cakes served. This year we will be having our refreshments in the outside courtyard area, accompanied by a variety of musicians and we hope lots of sunshine! We will offer a range of hot and cold drinks and home-made cakes.
We will be raising money for our local charity, supporting the refurbishment of the kitchen area in the Westbury Park Methodist Church, a key community facility. In addition, each performer/musician performing will nominate a charity and we will make a donation from proceeds from the refreshment area.
Live music
Gasworks Singers are a colourful and fun bunch of 35 enthusiastic singers, mainly from the huge and lovely 150-strong Gasworks Choir. Led by Dee Jarlett, they sing a mixture of entertaining material (mainly arranged by Dee and Ali Orbaum), mostly pop songs with a smattering of folk, blues, and world music.
Elinor Chambers studies trombone at the Guildhall School of Music, and, amongst other musical commitments, sings and plays guitar for The Mistakings. She will be performing some of her compositions and some other old and new folksy music. Ellie has chosen to support the charity Musicians Without Borders, which "uses the power of music to bridge divides, connect communities and heal the wounds of war".
Do come along and enjoy the work, this also offers the chance to meet the artists and buy directly from them.
We look forward to seeing you there!
