Laura Robertson
Laura Robertson is a Bristol based artist known for her quirky prints and paintings. Her work is figurative with a touch of humour, and is often compared to Beryl Cook for her larger than life paintings of ladies, who may be disguised as teapots! Laura is also the illustrator of the "Gordon the Goblin" children’s books.
She had her self-portrait “Laura in January” selected for exhibition as a part of the BP Portrait Award 2013, which is currently being exhibited nationally (National Portrait Gallery in London, Aberdeen and Wolverhampton). Her work often features in the local Bristol magazines, and she is currently having fun making a series of lino cuts at Spike Island. She has studied in Durham, Cambridge, London and Bristol and you can find here work in “Room 212” on Gloucester Road, Bishopston and in the “Fish Out Of Water” gallery in Wotton-Under-Edge. |
