Melanie Pike
Local Bristol jeweller, Melanie Pike, hand crafts contemporary jewellery using traditional metal smithing techniques including etching, forging, riveting and fold-forming. She regularly incorporates found objects and vintage ephemera, appreciating the charm of humble materials. She creates one-offs and small runs of highly wearable pieces. Inspired by the spirit of ancient artifacts, her pieces are quirky and distinctive.

When working to commission, she transforms customers' own treasures into wearable art - turning tiny, cherished items into very personal pieces, amulets rich in association for the wearer.
Melanie Pike's wearable assemblages are a celebration of the sacred at the heart of the everyday. They were selected for the 160th and 161st Autumn Open Exhibitions at the Royal West Of England Academy here in Bristol and have recently featured in the US book 'Behind the Brooch'
