Harriet St Leger
My inspiration comes mainly from natural forms and I particularly love seed pods and unusual leaf shapes found in Botanic Gardens. Some of my latest work has been inspired by sea algae studied at the Natural History Museum resulting in designs that are decorative and stylised.
I love colour and much of my jewellery is enamelled either on copper or on precious metals. I also use stones and pearls, to create richness and interest. I specialise in remodelling outdated jewellery to create wearable pieces. My enamelled wall panels can be quite small or large enamelled collage works. The designs are bold and striking, often incorporating gold foil. I work to commission, supply galleries and show at exhibitions. I will be at Art in Action near Oxford, in July.
